GoalFi Club

Web Application for financial management - UI Design Nov '21 - Present

Overview

Adulting is hard. Managing finances and taking the right investment decisions all at once sounds tiresome. Hiring financial advisors for basic monetary management, is too costly for many of us. Today, it is very important, to have a system devolted solely to financial management that keeps a watch on our behaviour & needs while reminding us of all the important things.

GoalFi Club is an invite-only platform for overall financial management. The idea was to create a system wherein people can manage their finances with ease. It is also a place where financial advisors can get clients. Young adults or people starting on their financial journey, in general, can seek advice from such advisors via membership plans if needed. The web app is an all-rounded system due to its many features. Apart from connecting users to advisors, it also has a self management system using machine learning and other latest technology. It has a range of customized recommendations system based on the user's data. It has a huge knowledge base catering to the needs of a wide range of audience.

My Role

This is one of the projects I worked on at my last job at Outshade Digital Media. For this one, my role in the team was UI designer.

Client Input

User experience, especially ease and simplicity in the experience in this system is of paramount importance to the client in this case. The system is expected to be clean yet inclusive of maximum data points in a nested manner. I was expected to design something that was both user-friendly and new. Our target audience is mainly the young generation, ranging from 18 years to 30-35 years. For many of them , this would be their first time on a financial management system. The client informed that poeple tend to get intimidated on logging into such extensive applications. Thus, I made sure to keep everything very comprehensible and beginner-friendly.

Reflection

I enjoyed a lot working on the dashboard and the responsive landing page UI. This was my first relatively big-scale UI Design as well as a financial project. It was a great learning experience for me. I'm still a student, not knowing a lot about finance myself. Thus, having worked so far on it has been quite a journey. These are the kinds of projects which truly teach one a lot about user experience, and what users prefer in the real world. I also got to learn a lot about financial management systems in general.
